Kindergarten Story Time and Craft at Maple Lake Library

Kindergarteners are THE BEST.

Maple Lake Library thinks so too, and that's why they are having a special "Just for Kindergarteners" time this summer.  It is designed for students who have finished K and will enter 1st grade in the fall.

Time: 10:00am on Mondays, beginning June 16

Activities: Story and Craft

Cost: Free!

This is a great opportunity for your child to develop and continue a love for reading, see friends, and be creative.

Summer Library Programs in Maple Lake!

After creating and watching our "Don't Stop Reading" video, I know the kids will want to read all summer!

Here is a way to keep them excited about it.

Maple Lake Library is running a program where kids can get prizes EVERY TIME they read.  They simply check out a book, have Mom/Dad fill out a slip that says they read it, and bring it back to the library the following week.  They can do this as many weeks as they want, during the 10-week program.  Each time they return a slip, they get a prize right away.  Their name also goes into a drawing for a bigger prize - $10 to buy books at Buffalo Books and Coffee!

School Wide Video - Remember to Read This Summer!

                  Over the last few weeks, every grade level was asked to submit pictures or video clips about reading.  This is a compilation of what came in!  Our class has learned and practiced the lyrics to the background song as well.  Have your child sing along, and watch for him/her in the video!

Last week of school

I look forward to seeing all of you at Kindergarten Graduation!  It begins Tuesday June 3rd at 1:15, and the students are excited to share a song and pictures with you.

Wednesday's complimentary lunch choices will be:

Lunch # 1

Turkey Gravy
Mashed Potatoes

Lunch #2

Yogurt Pack

(this includes a bagel, cream cheese, string cheese, yogurt, and a cup of fruit)

Watch for a slip coming home for you to indicate your child's lunch choice that day.

Wednesday is also "Be the Teacher" day.  Be sure that your child brings the necessary supplies to teach his/her friends.
