We have begun focusing on our names. We can gain many skills from doing this - letter sounds, counting letters and syllables, and becoming familiar with other students in the class.
When we do a Name Focus, one student is chosen. We study his/her name.
We practice our fine motor skills (holding a pencil correctly, drawing) when we draw the chosen student. We study what the student is wearing and try to match the colors in our own drawings.
The chosen Name Focus student gets to take home a book of everyone's drawings. Fun!
* Volunteer Orientation is tonight in the Elementary Media Center from 6 - 6:30. Please attend if you plan to volunteer this year, even as a field trip chaperone.
* Book orders are due tomorrow, September 18th.
